Excerpt: 5.55 Firmware (North American PSP release) Gran Turismo (also previously known as Gran Turismo 4 Mobile, Gran Turismo PSP, Gran Turismo Mobile, Gran Turismo 5 Portable and Gran Turismo Portable) is a PlayStation Portable (PSP) game developed by Polyphony Digital. The game was announced at the E3 Sony press conference on May 11, 2004, the same conference where Sony announced the original PSP. Following five years of delays and speculation, it made a reappearance at E3 on June 2, 2009 in a playable form. It was released on October 1, 2009 as one of the launch titles for the new PSP Go. As of December 31 2009, Gran Turismo has sold 1,8 million units. Gran Turismo is available as both a Universal Media Disc (UMD) at retail and as a digital download from the PlayStation Store. The game features over 800 cars, although only four cars are present in any race. The exotic car manufacturer Ferrari is featured, and for the first time in the main Gran Turismo series, Lamborghini, Bugatti and various other cars were introduced and fully licensed. There is no damage model in the game. 45 tracks are included, and most can be driven forward and reverse, for close to 75 layouts. Gran Turismo is centered on completing driving missions in order to advance in the game, unlike Gran Turismo 4's open-ended map. The game uses a new trading system to allow players to acquire cars. Ad hoc multiplayer will be supported for up to four players. Gran Turismo also allows online play through a free downloadable PlayStation 3 (PS3) application known as Adhoc Party for PlayStation Portable. During an interview at E3, it was revealed that tracks featured in the game...http://booksllc.net/?id=8475131

Modes

Hot Pursuit

Racers must get to the finish line to win. Cops need to stop them getting there.

By far the best mode of the three available. Simply driving the car perfectly does not always result in a victory. You need to adapt your strategy to what is going on with the other cars, so keeping an eye on the radar is crucial. As a racer it goes without saying that you need to avoid the cops like the plague, attempt to make it more appealing for them to target others racers. Sometimes this mean dropping off the pace a little, especially on long roads, so you can avoid a lot of the action. Also try and avoid unforced errors such as hitting hard obstacles full on and others cars - these will expire some of your precious energy. Working as a team when playing as the cops really pays off, there is nothing more frustrating than when another cop attempts to bag a catch at the expense of the greater good.

Interceptor

One racer versus one cop in a head to head pursuit. The weak link with regards to the online modes, certainly nowhere near the adrenalin rush you get from Hot Pursuit mode. As the racer just try and get out of the radar of the cop. If you are the cop then simply try and take down the racer.

Race

Race the world's most exclusive cars to see who will be the first to the finish line. It would have been nice to see the 'gadgets' enabled as a toggle option for the races, allowing spike traps and road blocks to slow competitors down. Quite simply the fastest car wins.

Positive and negative

Positive

Hot Pursuit mode is a genuine masterpiece online. Playing as a racer is a complete joy when attempting to outrun, outthink and outmanoeuvre the enemy police vehicles. Although, playing as the cops is extremely good fun as well. Simply driving well does not always win the event, staying out of the way of others and striking at the right time are just as important
Autolog function keeps track of all your stats when playing the game and links to the Hot Pursuit part of needforspeed.comThere is an App for the iPhone and iPad that allows you to keep tabs on your stats and compare them to friendsEasy to find a game is Hot PursuitNew cars awarded as you level upReal used cars (NOTE - it would be great to have a game that combines the graphical power of Gran Turismo 5 with the playability of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit) The game oozes style, having a feel of 'the fast and furious' film seriesSuperb 'pick up and play' gameplay, the rapid amount of online races you can get through in a single session compliments the fast, pulse racing experience when playingOnline is more fun than Gran Turismo 5Most Hot Pursuit races don't tend to dire outThe game is very addictive. It has the ' Just one more game' appealEasy to grasp the controls and use of the weaponsLots of different routes - around 40 Once you are out of the race in Hot Pursuit you can spectate other cars - this is a nice feature. When you are the cops you find yourself gripped to the screen willing your remaining team members to catch the racersNo disconnections experienced

Negative

?6. 80 (800 Microsoft points for Xbox 360 users) for an Online Pass. Buying the game second hand can become expensive if the previous owner has redeemed the code (that is if you wish to race online)

SCCP Rebels Pack, Racer Timesaver Pack, SCCP Timesaver Pack cost ?2. 72 each (320 Microsoft points each for Xbox 360 users). These give you 7 new cars, all unlocked Racers cars, and all unlocked Cop cars respectively. SW ?8. 16 all in all. If you have a copy of a game that has seen the online code redeemed and want to play online (costing ?6. 80), this totals ?14. 96
Replay function (like GT5) rather than snapshots would have been a lot better. Having replays would really add another level to the online experienceMore than 8 players on Hot Pursuit would have been awesomeInterceptor mode is the weak link in the modes - there is no real buzz to one on one competitionTeammates disrupting your good work when you are a cop can be so annoyingCan be difficult to find a 'race' event where there are the full quota, or near the full quota of peopleInterceptor fashion is difficult to win when you are a copWould have been nice to see the 'weapons' in 'race' mode at least as a toggle on / off optionHelicopter gadget does not yield enough significant results

Gran Turismo 2: Music at the Speed of Sound - The Album

Gran Turismo 2: Music at the Speed of Sound - The AlbumShouldn't there be music to listen to while you're zoning out with your Sony Playstation 2? And shouldn't it be music that races your pulse and turbocharges your reflexes? In other words, there's a reason why there's no Neil Diamond on the music portion of the 2-CD Playstation disc. Instead, it's hammerdown heavy metal, space age techno, or the Cardigans, whose melodically seductive "My Favorite Game" sounds suspiciously out of place among the likes of Apollo 440's "Cold Rock the Mic." You expect to see Rob Zombie and Moby listed here. But most amusing is the unexpected team-up of Fear Factory and Gary Numan for a remake of Numan's infamous new wave hit, "Cars." Doesn't say whether it's guaranteed to improve your overall performance. That must be part of the "Cool Moves from the Pros" on disc two. --Rob O'Connor

Need for Speed Most Wanted

In racing games need name for Speed needs no introduction. This series has revolutionized the world of the game and these games is household name.

Need for Speed Most Wanted was followed by need for Speed Carbon and need for Speed World and he is old enough to write something, but I liked the game so much that I decided to write something about the game.

The game has several characteristics of underground I and they combined with hot search functionality. This combination works well for game lovers. The game gives the freedom to drive in the bold as possible user. This may seem dangerous but a word of warning is provided by a nice lady at the beginning of the game, where she tells their seatbelts.

The functionality of a series of challenge is an additional game functionality if you feel do not like the mood of the race. The game graphics are bright and this aspect did not need to develop more that the need for speed users are aware of the fact that it is graphics, distinguished by need for Speed.

The game offers shopping and parts of modification of facilities for users. I've not tried online, but is fascinating with a single player, the user becomes accustomed to the situation and can earn a little easily.

I recommend this game for fans of racing. They will find this very exciting and challenging game. I think this is one of the best products of EA games.

I would like to write about different subjects. Personally, I love history, politics and international relations. I spend my weekend corresponds to the watching football and normally my family members complain that I give too much time on television.
