Weekly Video Games Round-Up

Here is our weekly video games round-up for the week of 13th December 2010. Enjoy!

We're back again with our weekly Video Games Round-Up and we've been sitting on some awesome material. For this week's issue were going to give you a peek at LittleBigPlanet 2. For our review we 're going to tell you about a game that caused a revolution in the games industry for iOS4 Devices called Infinity Blade. So check it out and learn more about these awesome games.

Upcoming

LittleBigPlanet 2

It has been a while since the first LittleBigPlanet came out and this sequel will be well worth the wait. What seems to be the same thing all over again in the beginning of the game, turns around quickly by introducing an actual storyline to the game, where you have to take it up against super evil Negativatron who is hauling up everything in the universe. As you form an alliance (with Sackboy and Larry Davinci ), you seek out Negativatron, you will come to notice that LittleBigPlanet 2 is more than just a fresh HD upgrade and is actually stacked with new in-game features.

The Controlinator is a helmet that you wear during the game which is able to shoot out preset objects to help you during the game. It can be used as a water gun, grappling hook and many other things that will help you reach the end of the level. You're also able to shoot out your own creations in levels that you can now create by yourself, and share online. The possibilities are almost endless and the game has tons of new things to talk about. Unfortunately you are going to have to experience those for yourself because I've run out of time.

All I can say is that LittleBigPlanet 2 will blow your mind when it comes to visuals; the incredibly detailed worlds you play in give you a different feeling every time. That along with the new costumes, animations and countless in-game options, LittleBigPlanet 2 is definitely worth the wait.

LittleBigPlanet 2 will be released on January 18th 2011 and will be available on the PS3

Infinity Blade

In this review we're going to talk about a game which can't be found on a PC, Xbox, PlayStation or even a Nintendo.

When the iPhone 4 and iPad came out, a new world opened for people who were then able to play small and funny games on the newest technology. Chair Development has made use of this new technology by creating a game, (using the Unreal 3 Engine) which could easily be placed among "the best" available games for iOS4 devices. Infinity Blade tells you the story about an assault on the castle of the God King which fails terribly and the so-called infinity blade draining all the life essence out of the main character. 20 years later you return to take revenge on the past and fight your way back into the castle to face the God King yet again. This game does not only look exceptionally good, but it's also an achievement in in-game visual effects, which often can only be seen on consoles like PlayStation and Xbox. Off course, visual quality means nothing when game-play is terrible, therefore Chair development has thought that through extensively and made the fighting system of the game feel like you are having an actual swordfight. While using your finger swipes to slash at your enemies, you are able to find only 3 buttons at the bottom of your screen. These are to both dodge left or right and block which..... Well face it, you don't really need since most people just hack and slash their way out of everything. However, if you play through the game multiple times it will become harder. So making use of dodging and blocking will prove useful as you continue your quest later on.

All and all, Infinity Blade is a great achievement for games on iOS4 devices, considering visual graphics and game-play which is ONLY available for touch screens. Hopefully it will set the tone for more great games to come, but for now this game is well over "just a good game."

Infinity Blade will be released on the 9th of December and is available on all iOS4 Devices with touch screen.
